Jining

In Shandong province

Jining is a city in southwestern Shandong on the Grand Canal, best known as the prefecture containing Qufu, the birthplace of Confucius, whose temple, mansion, and cemetery form a UNESCO World Heritage site. It has a temperate monsoon climate. An airport and high-speed rail connect it to Jinan and Xuzhou.
