📜 About & history

Liuhang East Mosque is on the west side of Liuhang South Street, on the south bank of the Yue River in Liuhang Community, Rencheng District, Jining, Shandong, and is a Shandong provincial heritage site. First built in the Wanli era of the Ming dynasty, it was enlarged in the Kangxi era of the Qing on the model of the West Grand Mosque. The complex has two courtyards; the prayer hall links a front porch, front hall and rear hall into 50 bays covering 880 m², each section rising higher than the last. A gilded plaque reading "Jiao Long Zhen Yi" hangs over the hall door, and more than ten Chinese and Arabic plaques hang inside. Badly damaged in the Cultural Revolution, it has been restored and is open for worship.
