Yangjiang
Yangjiang is a coastal city in western Guangdong known for its beaches, seafood and traditional crafts. Hailing Island and its Dajiao Bay draw summer crowds to some of the province's best sand, while the Maritime Silk Road Museum houses the Nanhai No.1, an intact Song-dynasty merchant shipwreck recovered from these waters. The city is famous nationwide for two products: fermented black beans used across Cantonese cooking, and finely made kitchen knives. Its climate is warm, humid and coastal, with long summers. Reached by high-speed rail, Yangjiang combines seaside leisure with a strong manufacturing and food heritage.
