Luqu county in Gannan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Gansu, is one of China's most remote and least-populated counties, with a predominantly Tibetan population. Langmusi (Taktsang Lhamo) is a historic Tibetan Buddhist monastery town straddling the Sichuan-Gansu border, famous for its sky burials and ancient temples. Gahai Lake is a nationally protected Ramsar wetland. The county is part of the Tibetan Plateau ecosystem.
