📖 About the company
SAIC Motor created the Roewe brand in 2006 after acquiring the intellectual-property rights of Britain's bankrupt Rover Group, building cars with British-inspired styling and Chinese engineering aimed primarily at the domestic market. The lineup has since grown to include sedans, SUVs and minivans across petrol, hybrid and pure-electric powertrains, with a focus on value pricing and smart-cockpit technology developed with partners including Alibaba and, more recently, ByteDance. Roewe remains an almost entirely China-focused brand.
