MG (Morris Garages) was founded in Oxford, England in 1924 as a sports-car marque, passing through British Leyland and Rover ownership before China's SAIC Motor acquired its rights in 2007 following MG Rover's collapse. SAIC revived MG as a global carmaker blending British heritage styling with Chinese engineering, with all current models built in China. MG has become one of the fastest-growing Chinese brands abroad, ranking among the top sellers in Europe, the Middle East and Australia. Its range spans SUVs, sedans, EVs and sports cars, alongside petrol models still built for developing markets.
