📖 About the company
SAIC acquired the assets of Britain's LDV van maker in 2010 and launched the Maxus brand in 2011 (known domestically as SAIC Datong / 上汽大通) to cover light commercial vehicles, vans and large SUVs. The brand has since expanded into premium family MPVs and rugged diesel-powered SUVs, plus electric versions of most of its line-up. Maxus vehicles are exported to over 90 countries including Australia, Europe and the Gulf states, making it one of SAIC's most successful commercial and specialty-vehicle brands.
