📖 About the university

Anyang University is a private undergraduate institution in Anyang, the northern Henan city celebrated as the site of the Yin ruins, cradle of the oracle-bone script and one of China's ancient capitals. The school was founded in 2003 as the College of Humanities and Management of Anyang Normal University, an independent college of the city's public teacher-training university, and in 2016 the Ministry of Education approved its conversion into a free-standing private institution under the name Anyang University. From its normal-university parentage the school keeps a strong teacher-education strand — Chinese, English, mathematics and early-childhood education among others — while as an independent private institution it has built out business, accounting, management, computer science, engineering, music and arts programmes, together with a civil-aviation cluster that has become one of its distinctive offerings. The intake is large and mostly from Henan, China's most populous province of origin for university students, and the school presents itself as an application-oriented university serving the employment market of the province and the wider north-China plain. Teaching is in Chinese and enrolment is domestic.
