📖 About the university

The Wuhan Conservatory of Music, founded in 1953, is the leading independent music conservatory of central China. It offers performance, composition, conducting, musicology, music education and Chinese traditional music, and is notably strong in the study of ancient Chinese music, including research on the famous Zenghouyi bronze bell-chimes unearthed in Hubei. Its graduates supply orchestras, ensembles and schools throughout the central provinces. Located in the university city of Wuhan on the Yangtze, it combines classical training with regional musical heritage.
