📖 About the university

Changzhou College of Information Technology is a public higher vocational college in Jiangsu Province specialising in software, electronics and the digital economy. It was founded in 1962 as the Changzhou Qinye Mechanical and Electrical School, was renamed Changzhou Radio Industry School in 1980, and took its present form in October 2000 when the Jiangsu provincial government approved the merger of that school with the Changzhou Electronics Workers' University. In December 2019 the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Finance placed it in Category B of the national plan for Chinese-characteristic high-level higher vocational schools and specialisms. The campus lies in the Changzhou Higher Vocational Education Park, a purpose-built cluster combining teaching, research, training, skills certification and community service, and covers 1,042 mu with a total building area of about 320,300 square metres. It teaches 12,444 full-time students, more than ten thousand continuing-education students and 132 full-time international students, organised into eight secondary colleges — software and big data, electronic engineering, digital economy, intelligent equipment, digital creativity, cyberspace security, overseas education and continuing education — together with four teaching departments. Its dedicated School of Overseas Education and its standing cohort of international students make it one of the more welcoming vocational colleges in Jiangsu for students from abroad.
