📖 About the university

Xingtai Medical University is a public full-time medical university in Xingtai, southern Hebei province, on the North China Plain about an hour by high-speed rail from Shijiazhuang. Its history begins in 1958 with the Hebei Xingtai Ophthalmology University; in 1964 the Hebei provincial government approved preparations for the Hebei Xingtai Health School, which was renamed the Xingtai Prefecture Health School in 1970 and the Xingtai Municipal Health School in 1993. The former Xingtai Health Staff Secondary School was merged into it in 2001, and in 2002 it was reorganised as Xingtai Medical College at specialist level. The Ministry of Education approved its elevation to full undergraduate status as Xingtai Medical University, and the new institution was formally unveiled on 16 July 2024. It operates two campuses, Gangtie Road and Huangsi, covering 1,389 mu with 500,000 square metres of building space and more than 13,000 full-time students. Its first six undergraduate programmes are pharmacy, medical laboratory technology, medical imaging technology, rehabilitation therapy, stomatological technology and elderly care service management, a deliberately applied and allied-health mix rather than a clinical-medicine focus.
