📖 About the university

Hanshan Normal University in Chaozhou, with a history dating back to 1903, is one of the oldest teacher-training institutions in Guangdong and eastern Guangdong's main university. It trains teachers across the humanities, sciences, education, arts and information technology, and is distinctive for its research into the rich Teochew (Chaoshan) culture, cuisine, ceramics and Gongfu tea. It serves the historic cultural city of Chaozhou and its surrounding region. Its campus sits beside the Han River, named after the Tang scholar Han Yu.
