South-Central Minzu University in Wuhan, founded in 1951, is a comprehensive university under the National Ethnic Affairs Commission serving China's many ethnic groups. Students come from all of China's officially recognised nationalities, giving the campus a uniquely diverse cultural life. It is strong in ethnology, ethnic languages and literature, and also in applied chemistry and biomedical engineering.
