📖 About the university

East China University of Political Science and Law (ECUPL), founded in June 1952, was among the first group of political-science-and-law universities established in the People's Republic and is the leading law school of Shanghai and East China. It was built on the former campus of St John's University through the merger of the law and social-science departments of nine institutions. Today it enrols around 20,000 students across some fifteen schools, with law, international law, economic law and intellectual property among its strengths. Its alumni are found throughout the courts, prosecutors, law firms and government of China's most developed region. With campuses in Changning and Songjiang, ECUPL is a top choice for international students of Chinese and international law.
