📖 About the university

Shanghai University of Electric Power (SUEP), founded in 1951, is a municipal public university built around the electric-power and energy industries. It grew from the Shanghai Training School of Electric Power through several stages before reaching full university status, beginning undergraduate education in 1985, master's programmes in 2006 and doctoral awards in 2018. With engineering at its core, the university also covers science, management, economics and the humanities, and has developed government-backed key majors in clean and safe power generation, smart grids and smart energy management. It runs about a dozen provincial- and ministerial-level research platforms and a national engineering education centre, and has taken part in hundreds of high-level research projects. Based in Shanghai with a modern campus in Lingang, SUEP is a natural choice for students focused on power systems and the energy transition.
