Hengyang Normal University, with roots dating to 1904, is a teacher-training university in the city of Hengyang in southern Hunan, by the sacred Mount Heng. It trains teachers across the humanities, sciences, education and the arts, and is one of the older normal institutions of Hunan. It serves the schools of southern Hunan. Its campus lies in a historic city on the Xiang River. The university welcomes international students interested in Chinese language and education in central-southern China.
