Xi'an Automobile Vocational University is a private bachelor-level vocational university in Xi'an, the ancient capital of Shaanxi Province, and the first vocational university in China named for the automobile. It traces its history to 1987 as a motorcycle-repair technical school, became Xi'an Automobile Science and Technology Vocational College in 2004, was upgraded to a bachelor-level vocational institution in 2018, and took its present name in 2019, making it one of the country's first fifteen pilot institutions for bachelor-level vocational education. The university is organised into around eleven schools, offering roughly twenty-one vocational bachelor programmes and thirty-seven higher-vocational programmes across fields such as equipment manufacturing, transportation, electronic information and business. Its defining focus is the automobile, with core strengths in automotive engineering, new-energy vehicles, intelligent transportation and vehicle service, closely aligned with China's growing electric-vehicle industry.
