📖 About the university
Dalian Vocational and Technical College is a public full-time higher vocational college directly under the Dalian municipal government, established to train high-skilled practical personnel for the city's economy. Its predecessor was the Dalian Management Cadre Institute, founded in 1979, which was approved by the former State Education Commission in 1985 as the Dalian Institute of Economic Management, and in 1999 the Ministry of Education approved its conversion into the public higher institution Dalian Vocational and Technical College. In 2001 the Dalian Industrial School and the Dalian Normal School were merged into the college, broadening it from management and engineering into teacher training as well. The college operates the Xiajiahe, Nanguanling, Puwan and Baiyun campuses, together covering about 1.032 million square metres in and around Dalian, a temperate seaside port city on the Liaodong Peninsula. It enrols some 13,537 full-time higher vocational students and is organised into around fourteen schools offering more than fifty specialisms across engineering, information technology, economics and management, foreign languages, art and design and teacher education. Dalian's long-standing economic links with Japan and South Korea have made applied foreign languages, software outsourcing and service-industry programmes particular strengths, and the city's pleasant climate and beaches make it one of the more comfortable places in north-east China to study.

🌆 About Dalian
Dalian is a major port and coastal resort city on the tip of the Liaodong Peninsula in Liaoning province. With a metropolitan population of around seven million, it enjoys a reputation as one of northern China's cleanest and most pleasant seaside cities. Thanks to its coastal setting, the climate is temperate and milder than the interior, with cool summers and cold but moderate, breezy winters. Highlights include the vast Xinghai Square, the scenic Binhai coastal drive, Tiger Beach Ocean Park, and pockets of Russian and Japanese colonial architecture. As a seaside city, Dalian is celebrated for its fresh seafood, from braised sea cucumber to grilled clams and seafood dumplings. A modern metro and tram network, Zhoushuizi International Airport, and high-speed rail link it to Shenyang and beyond. For an international student, Dalian offers sea breezes, a relaxed atmosphere, well-regarded universities, and a comfortable pace of life.
