📖 About the university

Macau Millennium College (MMC), known in Chinese as 中西创新学院, is a not-for-profit private higher education institution in Macau owned by the Innovation Education Association. It was established in August 2001 with the approval of the Macau SAR Government, and its founding president is Dr. Su Shuhui. On 31 July 2019 the government approved its Articles of Association, giving it the legal and academic qualifications to award associate, bachelor's, master's and doctoral degrees, and in the same year China's Ministry of Education confirmed its school-running qualification. For 2026/2027 it lists a four-year Bachelor of Science and a two-year Associate Degree in Smart Tourism and Entertainment Management, taught in a bilingual Chinese-English environment, together with a Master's and a PhD in Digital and Intelligent Language Services, each opening upon completion of programme registration. Smart tourism students can also take free micro-credential courses in the fundamentals of AI, big data decision-making, Python programming and web design. The college describes itself as oriented towards internationalisation and a culture of integrating Chinese and Western traditions, and it admits overseas and non-Macau students, with annual undergraduate tuition for non-local students set at HKD 80,000 for 2026/2027. Its facilities span a Taipa campus, its Zhongtu headquarters campus, and an industry-academia-research base at Macau Fisherman's Wharf.

🌆 About Macau

Macau is a Special Administrative Region on the western side of the Pearl River estuary, a former Portuguese enclave that returned to China in 1999 and is today the only place in the country where casino gaming is legal. Compact and densely populated, it is famous for a UNESCO-listed historic centre where baroque churches, cobbled squares, and Chinese temples stand side by side, most iconically the Ruins of St. Paul's. The territory has a humid subtropical climate with hot, humid summers and mild winters, and Cantonese, Portuguese, and increasingly English and Mandarin are all in use. Its economy, built on tourism and the integrated resorts of the Cotai Strip, gives it one of the highest per-capita incomes in the world and funds generous public services and student scholarships. Macau is linked to Hong Kong and Zhuhai by the record-breaking Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macau Bridge and has its own international airport on Taipa island. For an international student, Macau offers a uniquely East-meets-West Sino-Portuguese culture, small class sizes, strong tourism and hospitality programmes, and a safe, walkable environment.
