The Shanghai Theatre Academy (STA), founded in 1945, is one of China's top performing-arts universities and the leading drama school of eastern China. It offers acting, directing, stage and costume design, dance, musical theatre, traditional Chinese opera and creative writing, and has trained many well-known actors and stage artists.
