Zhengzhou University (ZZU) is a public research university in Zhengzhou, the capital of Henan province in central China, formed in its current shape in 2000 and with predecessor institutions dating to 1956. It is a Project 211 university and part of the national Double First-Class initiative, and as the flagship university of the populous Henan province it is one of the largest universities in the country.
