Hubei University of Medicine is a public medical university in Shiyan, northwestern Hubei province, founded in 1965. It is the principal medical institution of the region, offering clinical medicine, basic medicine, pharmacy, public health and nursing. The university operates several large affiliated hospitals that serve the mountainous districts around Shiyan and the Danjiangkou reservoir. It trains many doctors and health professionals for northwestern Hubei and enrolls international medical students.
