Xingyi Normal University for Nationalities is a public undergraduate university in Xingyi, the seat of the Qianxinan Buyei and Miao Autonomous Prefecture in southwestern Guizhou province. Its educational lineage reaches back to the historic Bishan Academy and a normal school established in the region, and it was upgraded to an undergraduate institution in 2009. The university specializes in teacher training and education for a multi-ethnic region that is home to Buyei, Miao and other minority peoples. It also offers programs in the sciences, foreign languages and the humanities.
