Bengbu Institute of Business and Technology is a private undergraduate institution in Bengbu, the railway junction city on the Huai River in northern Anhui. It was established in 2003 as the Business School of Anhui University of Finance and Economics, the independent college of the province's principal finance university, which is itself seated in Bengbu; for the better part of two decades it taught commerce on the strength of its parent's faculties before converting in 2020, amid the national reform of independent colleges, into a free-standing private institution under the present name. The inheritance keeps the school's centre of gravity firmly commercial: accounting, financial management, finance, auditing, international economics and trade, marketing and business administration dominate the programme list, ringed by newer tracks in e-commerce, data science applied to business, languages and design. As the only independent-college conversion of a finance university in Anhui, it occupies a recognisable niche for students who miss the cut-off for the parent university but want the same discipline mix in the same city. Teaching is in Chinese and enrolment is domestic, drawn mostly from Anhui and the surrounding Huai River provinces.
