📖 About the university

Tianjin University of Technology (TUT), founded in 1979 and formally established in 1996, is an engineering-focused, multi-disciplinary municipal public university in the Xiqing district of Tianjin. It began enrolling undergraduates as the Tianjin University Polytechnic Branch and became an independent institution by State Council approval in 1981. Today its roughly 26,000 full-time students study across engineering, science, the humanities, management and art, with recognised strengths in materials science, computer science and electrical engineering. The university is known for applied research and for a pioneering programme supporting students with disabilities through rehabilitation engineering and accessible education. Its large modern campus and location in Tianjin's industrial belt connect students to manufacturing and technology employers, and it welcomes international students.
