📖 About the university

China West Normal University in Nanchong is a major teacher-training university of Sichuan, with a history dating to 1946 in the wartime relocation of higher education to the southwest. It is well known for Chinese literature, history, education and especially zoology and wildlife conservation — its research on the giant panda and other rare animals of the Sichuan mountains is nationally recognized. The university trains large numbers of teachers for western China and hosts provincial laboratories in biodiversity.
