📖 About the university

Liuzhou Vocational and Technical University is a full-time public vocational-bachelor's university located in Liuzhou, the largest industrial city in the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. Its roots reach back to institutions founded in 1972, and the college was formally established with the approval of the State Education Commission in March 1998 as a comprehensive higher-vocational college; in 2024 the Ministry of Education approved its elevation to Liuzhou Vocational and Technical University on that basis. It is one of China's roughly one hundred national demonstrative vocational colleges and a national high-level (double-high) construction unit. The university operates the Shewan and Guantang campuses across more than 1,900 mu and is organised into ten secondary colleges, including Mechatronic Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Electronic Information Engineering, Environmental and Food Engineering, Finance and Logistics Management, Trade and Tourism Management, and Arts, offering some fifty-nine programmes. Reflecting Liuzhou's position as a major automobile and machinery centre, home to enterprises such as SAIC-GM-Wuling, it is particularly strong in mechatronics, automotive engineering and electronic information. As an applied vocational university it enrols primarily domestic students and does not currently advertise a dedicated Chinese-language pathway for international applicants.
