📖 About the university

Guizhou Medical University, founded in 1938 as National Guiyang Medical College during the war years, is the oldest and leading medical university of Guizhou province in southwest China. It offers clinical medicine, basic medical sciences, public health, pharmacy and stomatology, and is noted for research into endemic and regional diseases of the mountainous southwest. The university runs major affiliated hospitals that provide much of the specialist care for Guizhou. Based on a modern campus in Guiyang's university town, it trains most of the province's doctors and health workers. It also welcomes international students into medical programmes.
