📖 About the university

Guangxi Minzu University in Nanning, founded in 1952, serves the Zhuang and other peoples of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. Close to the border with Vietnam, it is a national leader in the languages and cultures of Southeast Asia, teaching Vietnamese, Thai, Lao, Khmer and other ASEAN languages. Alongside ethnology and ethnic literature, it has built strong ASEAN-focused programmes in trade, law and area studies. The university acts as an important bridge between China and Southeast Asia. It hosts many international students, especially from neighbouring ASEAN countries.
