Yining has no metro. The station lies on the north side of the city, about 10 km from the centre; taxis and buses make the trip in around 20 minutes.

Traveller notes
Passenger service began in July 2010 on the Jinghe–Yining–Khorgos railway, Xinjiang's first electrified line. The 286 km route crosses the Tian Shan into the fertile Ili River valley, linking Yining with Khorgos on the Kazakhstan border.
