🚇 To & from the city centre
There is no metro in Xilinhot. Use a city bus or taxi/Didi from the station into town. We did not verify a distance or specific bus route numbers, so none are given.
A third-class passenger-and-freight station in operation since 1 August 2002, run by the Jitong Railway Company. The station building was rebuilt from May 2023 as part of the Taizicheng–Xilinhot railway project, and the new building formally opened on 16 July 2025 with 12,000 m² of floor area and room for 3,000 waiting passengers. IMPORTANT planning note: sources record only 2 passenger trains a day calling here as of September 2025, so confirm a train exists before planning a trip around this station, and keep the plane or an intercity coach as a fallback. This is the only station we can confirm in Xilinhot city.
🔄 Getting from the station to the airport
Xilinhot Airport (锡林浩特机场, XIL) serves the city and is usually faster than the train given how few trains call here. Reach it by taxi/Didi; we did not verify airport-bus times or fares. There is no metro in Xilinhot.
