There is no metro in Shantou. The station is within the city and is linked to nearby districts by buses and taxis.
The main station of the coastal city of Shantou, the eastern end of the Guangzhou–Meizhou–Shantou railway with a branch to the Xiamen–Shenzhen line, serving one of the old special economic zones.

Jieyang Chaoshan International Airport is about 35 km from the station. The easiest way is the airport shuttle bus or a taxi of around 45 minutes for about ¥100–130. There is no metro in the city.
