Opened on 20 November 1958 on the coal-hauling Boli–Qitaihe railway, joined the national network in 1959, and was upgraded to a first-class station in 1986. Historically a coal-transport hub, it now serves as the city's regional passenger link to Harbin and Jiamusi.
