Qionghai has no metro. Taxis and buses reach downtown in a few minutes; the Boao Forum for Asia venue, about 15 km away, is best reached by a short onward ride on the HSR ring or by taxi.

Served by the Hainan Eastern Ring high-speed railway (opened 30 December 2015, top speed 250 km/h). The next stop south, Boao station, is about 10 minutes away and serves the annual Boao Forum for Asia on Dongyu Island.
