Longgang was China's first town upgraded directly into a county-level city without the usual administrative stages, made official in 2019; it sits on Zhejiang's southern coast. It is served by a stop on the Wenzhou–Fuzhou railway, opened in 2009, linking it by fast train to Wenzhou, Fuzhou, and beyond.
