Golmud has no metro. The station is near the town centre; use a taxi or bus. Elevation about 2,800 m — take it easy with the altitude.

Vital hub linking Qinghai, Tibet, Xinjiang and Gansu, and the last major station before the high Tibetan plateau. Tibet trains stop here. Halal food available.

🔄 Getting from the station to the airport

Golmud Airport (GOQ) is about 16 km from Golmud Railway Station. An air-rail shuttle bus links them for about ¥20 in around 30 minutes; a taxi costs about ¥35-50 and 30-45 minutes. There is no dedicated airport express city bus.
