Beitun has no metro. The station is about 4-5 km from the town centre; a shuttle bus runs between the station and town.

Opened for service on 10 June 2017 as part of the Kuytun-Beitun-Altay railway; it serves Beitun City, seat of the 10th Division of the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps, and is a jumping-off point toward the Altay Mountains and Kanas Lake.
