Built in 1937 by Japanese railway engineers in a distinctive colonial style combining granite, brick and timber, it was listed as a national key protected cultural relic in 2013. Often called one of China's most beautiful railway stations, it is today a small 4th-class station with 2 platforms and 3 tracks, mainly serving trains toward Ulanhot.
