Zhengyuan Mosque, formerly the Beigouyan or Zhaodengyu Road Mosque, was founded on Zhaodengyu Road in the Daoguang era of the Qing dynasty and reopened after repairs in June 1986. In July 1997 it was demolished for municipal works, rebuilt at a new site in Dongguanying and renamed Zhengyuan Mosque. The name over its gate was written by Hei Boli, a former chairman of the Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region.
