📜 About & history
The West Gate Mosque is the oldest surviving mosque in Zhangjiakou, built with donations from the local Hui community; accounts of its founding range from 1669 (Kangxi) to the Yongzheng reign (1723–1735). It stands in the Xiguan quarter near the city's historic Baozili birthplace, a centre of Han–Mongol trade.
