📜 About & history
Yixigong Mosque takes its name from its role in receiving Hui people who came to Kunming from the Yixi region of western Yunnan, and it remains an important gathering place for Kunming's Hui on major festivals. It was listed as a district-level protected heritage site in 1986 and in December 2010 named an advanced unit in building harmonious places of worship. Its earth-and-timber prayer hall measures 13.9 by 11.9 metres; the main gate is on Qingyun Street and a back gate on Nanchang Street.
