Xiningdao Mosque succeeds the Dunrenli Mosque on Xining Road. The new building's foundation stone was laid on 1 May 1991 and it opened on 2 March 1992, with about 1,000 square metres of floor space. It was designed by the Hui engineer Yao Fuxing and has a 23.7-metre minaret; the main prayer hall holds 200 worshippers.
