The Xijin East Road Grand Mosque, also known as the Xihu (West Lake) Grand Mosque, is a large mosque in the Qilihe Muslim district on the south bank of the Yellow River. It was first built in 1917 (Republic Year 6) and today covers more than 8,000 square metres with over 5,000 square metres of buildings. The rectangular compound runs east–west in two courtyards, shaded with trees and lined with symmetrical flower beds. It is one of the principal landmark buildings of Qilihe District.
🕌 Prayer & visiting
Five daily prayers and Friday Jumu'ah (midday) are held; ablution (wudu) rooms are provided. Dress modestly with shoulders and knees covered (headscarf for women) and remove shoes before entering. Visitors are welcome outside prayer times.

🚇 How to reach the mosque
- Line 1 Xiaoxihu （小西湖站）
Take a bus along Xijin East Road to the Xiaoxihu (小西湖) area and walk to the mosque; many routes running between Qilihe and Xiguan pass Xiaoxihu.
From the Xiguan Hui quarter go west two or three Metro Line 1 stops to Xiaoxihu; the mosque is in the surrounding Muslim neighbourhood.
About 3–4 km west of the city centre on the south bank; take Metro Line 1 to Xiaoxihu (2–3 stops) or a 15-minute taxi ride.
