📜 About & history
Xihui Mosque was founded in 1821 (1st year of the Qing Daoguang era) and is thought to have been converted from a Tibetan Buddhist lama temple. It was occupied from the late 1960s, restored in part in 1984, and in 1999 the prayer hall was renovated and side halls and a women's lecture hall were added. The plaque "清真无二" in the hall was written by the Daoguang-era grand secretary Cao Zhenyong. In January 2013 it was listed as a Chaoyang District registered cultural relic.
