📜 About & history

Xiaoguoshi Mosque, in the middle of Xiaoguoshi Community, Xinhu Subdistrict, Dezhou, is a district-level protected site. It was founded in 1582 (10th year of the Ming Wanli era) with funds from seven Hui families and grew in the Ming and Qing into a classical complex aligned on the prayer hall and gate. The old buildings were demolished in the mid-1970s, leaving only a stele of 1882. Rebuilding began in October 2011; a 321-square-metre prayer hall and a 71.4-square-metre north lecture hall were completed in June 2012 and opened in July 2013. The mosque is included in heritage protection along the Grand Canal.
