Xiaodongying Mosque, also called Dongying Temple, was founded in 1468 during the Chenghua reign of the Ming dynasty. When Hui Muslim soldiers from Nanjing were sent to Guangdong to quell unrest and were then garrisoned in Guangzhou, they set up four camps — the 'Huihui camps' — and the mosque was established by the troops stationed at the Xiaodongying ('Little East Camp'). Covering more than 570 m², it has over five centuries of history. It was approved as an open religious venue in 1998, restored in 2005, and later recognized as a model harmonious religious site.

- Line 1 Peasant Movement Institute （农讲所）
Buses 1, 76, 76A, 93, 102, 107, 108 and 864 serve the Nongjiangsuo (Peasant Movement Institute) stop nearby.
From the Xiaobei Arab quarter take Metro Line 5 to Yangji, change to Line 1 and ride to Peasant Movement Institute; or a 10–15 minute taxi.
From central Guangzhou take Metro Line 1 to Peasant Movement Institute (Nongjiangsuo); the mosque is a short walk along Yuehua Road.
