📍 Xiahe · Wanggertang Township 🏛️ 1945

📜 About & history

Wangatan Mosque stands in Wanggertang Township, Xiahe County; the township, formerly called Wangatan (a Tibetan name), lies on the Daxia River at a crossroads between Linxia and Gannan prefectures. Hui merchants came here to trade early on, and the mosque was founded in 1945. Its 400-square-metre prayer hall joins a rolled-roof porch to a gabled hall, built of reinforced concrete in imitation of timber, and a four-storey hexagonal minaret stands behind it to the left.
