📜 About & history
Ulanhua Mosque is on Xinhua Street, Ulanhua Town, Siziwang Banner, Ulanqab, Inner Mongolia. Founded in 1926 as a 40-square-metre earth-and-timber building, it moved to its present site in 1935 and was enlarged into a compound of about 3,000 square metres with a prayer hall and ablution rooms. Today it is an Arab-style grey-brick building decorated inside and out with Arabic plaques. Thirteen imams have served here; in 1990 Muslims raised more than 10,000 yuan to renovate the ageing buildings, which include a six-bay prayer hall and service rooms. Since 2016 it has been a municipal model unit for ethnic unity and progress.
