Tongxin Great Mosque was likely built in the 14th century during the Yuan dynasty. Originally a Buddhist temple, it was abandoned after the Yuan fell in 1368 and reconsecrated as a mosque in the early Ming, and was recognized as a national cultural heritage site in 1983.
