Tana Mosque is at the foot of Hongshan in Tana Village, Changchuan Township, 10 li east of Lintan County town, Gansu. The village of some forty households is surrounded by farmland, faces Shenzang Township of Jonê County across a small hill to the west and opens onto the wide Beishan grasslands to the northeast, suited to both farming and herding. Imam Wang Erli from Linxia, a learned scholar who had taught at Changchuan and Jiucheng and made the pilgrimage to Mecca before 1949, taught here for 15 years.
